Nemo: Hooray for your bike! I like your porpoise omen---if anything, they certainly brighten any day.
Marianne: You are certainly taking your purse getting stolen in stride. Glad you're getting your new ID's today. My mom had her purse stolen this summer and the thief bought a ticket to Yemen with her CC. Unless the thief is a 70 year old Thai woman, he's going to have hard time sneaking into Yemen with her driver's license.
Kate: Don't worry about the taper workouts! Just get yourself better for race day! Sleep lots and drink OJ!
Barb: That's too bad you won't be at IMMoo...I was really looking forward to meeting you! I totally understand about the IM spending vortex.
Leaving tomorrow for Madison! I've been so busy with things that needed to get done before I left (the usual housework stuff) and things that are pressing when I get back (studying for boards recertification) that I haven't had the energy or time to be nervous out this race. I'm typically not nervous before races because there's not much I can do about an unknown/unseen disaster until it happens. Ha! Safe travels to all the IMWI Chicas and happy training to all EN Chicas! We are one lucky and blessed bunch of girls!
Linda: What a crazy week for you! Hang in there, girlfriend---soon you'll be hanging with the Chicas with your feet up sipping Gatorade.
Becky: New bike this weekend---SOOOO exciting! Have you figured out a name yet?
Dashing around last 3 days getting stuff ready to leave tomorrow. Can't find any cheap gardening or small jersey gloves to wear & ditch on bike. If anyone runs across some, please buy & I'll pay ya back. Wrong time year 4 gardening/outdoors stuff!!
Be glad to get to Madison & get some rest. Even with taper, still overly busy & mucho forgetfull!!! Safe travels all!
Just wanted to say safe travels to all of you competing in and sherpa-ing IMOO! I wish I could join you but I'll be thinking of you and watching online as best I can!
@Kris - I have some "throw away" gloves I've gotten at running races... I'll pack them and see if they'll work. Not garderning gloves, though (no nubby grippers), so let me know if they won't work.
@Kitima - no name yet, want to ride him first. Kinda leaning towards [Orange] Crush but who knows.
Todd hopes to ship today, but might not get him done in which case he'll ship tomorrow... so probably won't get a ride before I get home from WI. But will still have 8 solid weeks to become one with him and get the fit right (fortunately practically 2 weeks before the first RR, where I really want to test everything out - just ordered a speedfill).
Safe travels everyone! I'm excited to meet you all!!!
Wheelcover - Thanks, ladies! How about a wrenching lesson in Madison? We can set up hat-sewing, wrenching, pedicure shop!
Absolutely! I'll totally trade my wheel cover install/removal skills for cleanly painted nails! And if I can't figure out the sewing dealio I'll hit you up for that too!

checking in beend doing errands all day long got ID and debit card and some cash. vacuumed out car, got hair trimmed, and went to walgreens, whole foods. fresh market and walmart so now house has some food and i have some travel food. took dog for a quick run, raining so let him off leash and he got in some cockleburs so bad all in his paws, up his legs and chest that I had to take him to groomers, he was breathing hard and was anxious and so was I... how is that for a 30' run, gonna cost me $$ in grooming and she has to cut fur. also got bike looked at for final inspection. so? I am beat. at Walgreens though I did find a teeny tiny lip gloss!!! a promo with some mascara!! I also have a teeny aquaphor too and some teeny container of aleve. all will fit in bento box. anyways I feel fat and am gaining weight about a pound a day I believe! so race better hurry up and come and the 30 min run didn't feel that swell either, just normal. ha. could be the extra weight I am carrying. oh yeah got the snickers and baby cokes for special needs. think that is it?? so scooting. gotta get the dog in one hour. m
OMW Marianne...I'm going to bed now that I have read about your exhausting day!!!
Kate...feel better!
All...see you there! We are heading to Madison Thursday morning. Kids will be trickling in Friday night and Saturday morning with the husband. Kind of fun that everyone will be there. A friend of mine from Habitat 500 is driving up from Chicago. She was so sweet, she messaged me on Facebook to make sure that someone would be at the finish line for me. She said she didn't want me to be there all alone. What a great gesture!! I told her to come to the finish line and join the partayyyyy
morning ladies! I started a sherpa packing list (and have already located my cowbell, hand clappers, rain poncho, and gloves for Kris), and need to add getting a drill bit to my list of things to do before leaving (good thing I telework tomorrow and already had a lunchtime errand to knock out). Nemo, I'd love to see the thread re: how Trent got his nickname. I've also emailed my volunteer point person to see if I can meet up with him for info/shirt another time so I can make the group swim and ride on saturday (fingers crossed Michele's bike works for me)!
Got an email from Todd yesterday that the bike is good to go... if all goes well, he'll arrive tomorrow (lucky I'll be home all day... or, at the very least in the afternoon when UPS typically comes)! Happy Dance!!! The Speedfill came yesterday, but I haven't opened the box yet. I need to stop bleeding money... soon! But I'm still definitely planning on off season power - I just threw down a ton of moolah for the Kestrel, I want to ride him to the best of my abilities!
Tested on the bike last night - the first time since OS that the schedule actually called for HR athletes to test (in the past we've had an optional workout listed). Not only am I down 8 lbs since my test in January, but I went an additional .5 miles in the 50 minutes. I think that's good. My avg HR bumped up 3 ticks... not sure if that's good or bad, but I know it will mean harder work getting into Z3 and Z4 for my training rides. Swim tonight and run test tomorrow. I wanted to have Dan pace me... but knowing the bike is coming I won't want to leave my house until I have him, so I will probably do it solo in the morning and hope for the best... at least it should be cooler then and that helps!
I hope everyone heading to WI has a very safe trip. Please feel free to drop me a note if you get there and realize you've forgotten something... rah.2774@gmail.com. I don't leave until Friday and can run errands tomorrow post-bike or Friday morning if I need to... or if I have what you need I'll throw it in my bag!
At the airport getting ready to fly to Madison! Getting excited to meet everyone! My sinus infection is on the mend, feeling muchbetter. Now just exhausted from being sick the last 2 weeks. Plan on getting lots of rest and will be ready to go Sunday. Feeling so blessed to get the chance to experience the IM with all the chicas and Sherpas!
Ok, I obsessing but after reading something about Aquaphor I'm thinking about using that instead of chamois butter. Do ya'll think they will have tubes of that at the IM store? What am I thinking????
Great dinner tonight at a sushi restaurant with most of the folks here in Madtown already! I can't believe I FINALLY met Linda in person! So cool! OK- gotta finish up some work and go to bed. We are meeting in the morning to swim.
So great to have dinner with old friends that are yet new..... Linda finally phrased it perfectly for me when I asked her how to describe what we have here to others.. a team that has become a family! So happy to meet another 5 new sisters tonight and more to come!! WAY COOL! Amazing how things have just clicked every time I've had the privilege of meeting each of you! Just want each of you to know how much that means!
On lighter ground.. found a pair of gloves on the way up. Also bought drill bit and thread and realized forgot to pack visor (DAH) so have it coming up tomorrow. Also on the forgot list.... sweatshirt (brrrr it's cold early am, late pm) Thinking arm warmers, glove, & singlet for the bike- we'll see! 12 hr trip up (9 hrs drive time 3 hrs admin/visiting clients for work). Gorgeous weather all day! Off to dream land so I can swim like a fish in the am!
Add my blessings to all the Moo Chicas and Sherpa's feels like it has been forever getting to tthis weekend. Will follow all of you, is anyone posting their Race Numbers on another subject line, want to be sure I can track all of you. My very best to Nemo, Kitima, Marriane, Heather and ALL the girls, hope it is not to chllly in the morning. You are ALL so gonna kick butt!! I would give anything to be at mile 18 and the finish line, You have all worked soooo hard, lots of challenges overcome, lots of sacrifices but tons of luck, safe travels and go get em done
Wonderful dinner last night! Chilly morning before we head out to swim.
Tattoos- several folks brought their stash. Thank you from those of us that forgot.
Sheryl- I have problems down there. I use Body Glide before the swim on myself and the seams of the shorts. After I ADD Aquaphor AND Brave Soldier. Plus have another mini Aquaphor in BSN and I use it! I will lube my bike shorts with Body Glide in the seams before they go into my T1 bag. I am wearing a bikini bottom under the wetsuit. I am very liberal with lubing my shorts, but 7+ hours is a long time.
Beth- mine is on the way up tonight but I'll take another if you end up having some. I will likely need some assistance with the drill bit addition.
Having fun checking facebook and email this morning- lots of good mojo and prayers for a safe and fun race. Better get shaking if I'm going to make the swim!!
okay ladies - please let me know if you need me to grab anything and throw it in my bag to bring! I can't wait to meet you all tomorrow!
Did the 5k run test this morning... without Dan pacing. The temps were great, a tad windy but not at all bad. I'm 5lbs lighter than my test in May (and 10 lbs lighter than my first OS bike test) so I was hoping that would translate into a faster time (it should help for sure)... but I was 8 seconds slower than May. At this one was mentally tougher than I remember... probably bc I was alone and not chasing Dan. Bummer I was slower, but only marginally (still a sub 8 pace which is amazing for me to consider) so my pace zones didn't change... I suspect bc of the horrible heat this summer, never really getting to train at pace might have been a factor. Oh well, I'm not at all upset... bc hopefully with weather maybe breaking I can really train in these zones.
If all goes well, I'll swim tonight (after my new shiny happy bike is delivered) and then I'm gonna get up super duper early tomorrow to do saturday's 3 hour ride on the drainer (ugh) before getting ready to hop on the plane! Then I'll be essentially on schedule for the week - doing Sunday's 3 hour ride with the team on the course Saturday. Hopefully I can make the group swim, too... won't be the set swim test, but what the heck, open water is a good thing... maybe I can do 1 full loop if the buoys are out... if not, well, I'll be down a swim for the week... I'll survive (so far, I've always been down a swim a week).
Glad to read folks are arriving safely and getting settled. Can't wait to be there. I'm sure the team dinner is going to be awesome tonight and I'm sorry to be missing it... already started packing last night. 4 keys shirt. Chicas shirt. Chicas visor. EN bike kit. Cowbell... woo hoo!
Becky- If you are going to be out on the course Saturday, you might want to make tomorrow your Sunday ride and only do 1.5-2 hrs on the drainer. Then the course will give you plenty of FTP. Lots of big hills. I did stuff like that 3 weekends over the 12 week plan. I am still plenty prepared. See you tomorrow night.
@Michele - thanks, that's a good idea... do my ABP ride on the drainer in the morning knowing the hills will have my HR all over the place on Saturday! Also good bc then I won't annoy the crap out of anyone within an earshot with my beeping watch.
Got lots of personal admin done last night (bills, laundry) so I'd be good to go today and not be distracted while trying to work... so, I'm essentially ready to go, packed everything but what I need for tomorrow morning! Looks like the bad weather will plague us Saturday but Sunday will be fabulous for you all, which is great news! Just checked UPS, the bike arrived at Dulles this morning and is "out to ship" now... UPS usually ends up in my neighborhood in the 5:30-6:30 range... so I'm here holding my breath with my excitement level practically through the roof ... I'm really excited. Hope you're all doing well and having a wonderful time!

Wheelcover - Thanks, ladies! How about a wrenching lesson in Madison? We can set up hat-sewing, wrenching, pedicure shop!
Um, I'm just bouncy ball of nervous/excited energy. Crossing things off the work to-do list like it is my hobby.
Cowgirls? Everyone is hydrating, stretching, foam rolling, and taking her vitamins, yes?
Absolutely! I'll totally trade my wheel cover install/removal skills for cleanly painted nails! And if I can't figure out the sewing dealio I'll hit you up for that too!

Tats found, in a copy of The Brief and Frightening Reign of Phil. Sheryl, I'll hook you up.
Thanks!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Kris, other ladies - I have giant box of pink visors.

Almost done packing. Lots of stupid work crap going on...why don't people realize that I have chica sherpa duty this weekend and need to FOCUS?!?!!?!
TIA for the spreadsheet link.
O- The IMWI Race Weekend tracking list might actually have a more complete list of phone numbers for what you are looking for:
IMWI Race Week List
But here is the original Chica list you asked for as well:
