Hi all. I'm Paul from NJ and am looking forward to training for a couple of HIMs this year. Took a few months off after we had a third baby boy, and now I'm back, ready to work alongside all of you to get ready for them!
Just started the free trial membership and hope I can join the team at the end of it. I have been participating in triathlons for about 15 years on and off but always with a lame effort. I've done sprint, olympic and 70.3 but now am planning to do my first Ironman...Lake Placid in July. I need all the help I can get. I look forward to training with you all.
George here. I'm actually re-joining EN after being away in 2012, after using EN through the 2011 season. This year I'm doing the Vineman Full and Ironman Florida (IM's #2 and #3 for me after IMLP in '11). I may throw in a half or two in the season, maybe an oly, but no specific plans there yet. Looking forward to being back on the team. I live in MD.
Well in the spirit of the New Year, I'm starting a new training program! This year I volunteered at Ironman Lake Placid with the hopes of signing up...I did! I'm not sure it has completely set in, but at least I'm taking steps to get myself ready. I've done 3 Half iron mans in the last 2 years and this will be my first (and maybe last) Ironman. I guess I can't really say that with confidence since after my first half ironman I said, I'd never do a full and here I am. I live in Virginia and am ready to get started.
Looking forward to my first year with Team EN in 2013. I'm from the east side of Detroit and I did my first sprint triathlon in June 2011. Since then, I've done a couple of 70.3 (Rev3 Cedar Point in 2011 and 2012) and IM Florida this past November (with disappointing results; fell apart on the run). Now I'm focused on IM Wisconsin in September. Happy New Year!
Hello everyone, and a happy healthy 2013 for everyone. Just signed up for EN. This is my 3rd year of racing triathlons, but i'm still a newbie, as there is so much to learn. I have completed five 70.3 races, and just last July completed my first IM at Lake Placid. I finished at 13:40, thought I would do better, but I made quite a few rookie errors that day, and to be quite honest, I was was very lucky to finish. I turn 40 in 2013, and to celebrate, I signed up for IM Mount Tremblant. I also am doing Rev 3 Quassy half and the Black Bear Half as well.
My weakness are the swim and the bike, my only strength is my run. I hoping to improve my IM time this year.
I'm coming back after a couple year break after my first HIM in Austin (having another kid somehow got in the way). I've been following EN for a couple years now and finally decided to test it out. I'm planning on doing at least one HIM this year (Buffalo Springs for sure) and then attack IM next year.
Hi everybody. I am a veteran looking to improve my IM time. After years of traing by RPE, I have decided to get a formal training plan and do bike training by power. Quite a change. I am excited to see if this approach works. Signed up for Lake Tahoe and some other local HIM events. I am from mid Michigan.
Hey, pre Happy New Year! Just joined trial, want to go full membership, but can't swim yet. Did sprints at Eau Claire and Lake Carroll, 40+ years of smoking = shortness of breath, but ran/walked 12 marathons and or ultras, including 50 miler, rode a 100k bike. Blood pressure medication, but doctor says, just try to be safe ( 4 marathons in 10 days makes her wonder if she should be treating my head, not my heart). If there is hope for the swim, I look forward to training with you, and meeting at or before races. I have many friends participating this year, which gives me extra incentive & comfort to join 4 or 5 races. I might even be racing the clock, for all i know-ha. Best Wishes and Godspeed to all. Joe
Hiya. I am Greg Fay from Kansas City. Am doing the trial, then likely the whole shebang. I started Tri 3 years ago after not running for 15 years (afraid to due to knee surgeries), and got hooked! Completed KS 70.3 six weeks later and never looked back. It's my "therapy" and I've gone from worrying about my health and living past mid-40s to 50 yrs old and ready for another 50!
Have done Rev3 Cedarpoint Full and Louisville IM, plus several 70.3 (KS twice and Branson). This year, turning 50 on 1/3 and to celebrate wanting to do two IMs. Signed up for Coeur d'Alene in June, and signed up for and will do either Wisconsin or Tahoe in Sept. Boulder 70.3 in between.
Hi everyone. I'm a new EN trial member from New Zealand (glorious summer day here today :-). I did my first IM in 2005 and have now done 5 all using a 'minimalist training approach'. I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and finding out I have arthritis in my knees (and I'm a 'young' 45!) so this season is very quiet with little training or racing - but lots of eating!. Married and wanting to stay that way, with 5 teenage children, life is full on so I do all my training by myself. I'm looking forward to the 'team' experience with EN. My only issue is that I'll be on a different season clock from most of the EN team so if there's any Southern Hemisphere ENers out there, I'd be keen to hear from you

Joe - that is an impressive story. Congratulations on your new health and active lifestyle. I look forward to hearing about your progress!
Joe - There's no "hope" for the swim. Hope is not a course of action. You can do it. All you have to do is jump in. I'm right there with you. We'll get it done.

George - welcome back! We may have been in the NOV OS back in 2010. We are better now than back in '11!
Hey everyone. I'm Scott Thatcher. I am joining the EN team for serveral reasons. First, I am on the staff at the US Air Force Academy and I have the privilidge of helping out with the cadets in the Triathlon Club. I figure I should lead by example. Second, my tendency is more towards laziness than it is exercise, although I love exercise. I figure if I pay for the program, I will be guilted into sticking with it. If I don't, I expect the coaches and everyonelse to yell at me for being lazy. So thanks in advance. I look forward to a fun, healthy, and exciting year.
Welcome Scott. EN training will be a perfect fit for the Cadets. Like us Age Groupers, their time is limited. Are they still considered "Limited On Season"?
Hi everyone...my name is Troy Craig. I've been participating in triathlons since 2005, but over the past two years have stepped it up to the half iron distance. I'm one of those 200+ pound guys and finish a half in 6 hours. I recently moved from California to Colorado Springs, Co. I was signed up for IM Arizona, but had to back out due to the move with my family. This year I'm signed up for ironman Tahoe, which will now be my first IM. I'm hoping EN will be my key to getting back on track for a successful 2013 season...and get below the 200 pound mark while I'm at it!
Welcome Troy!!! I'm a fellow big dood and have learned a ton here in da haus. Don't be shy, if you have questions the brain trust here is awesome! I'm racing Tahoe and will look forward to seeing you there!

Scott - I am a USMA '82 grad and as much as I would like Army to beat Air Force at the College Tri-Nationals, I'll be pulling for your team since you are now on our EN Team!
You'll find this an exciting training program with people of all abilities doing these incredibly hard workouts and still working full-time jobs with families! Welcome!
My name is Leah Friedman. I used to be quite active with triathlons for about 10years. I moved to Oxnard a few years ago from Lake Arrowhead and lost my training buddies, motivation and speed. I said I would do IM NewZealand in 2014 for my 50th birthday (did it in 2004 for my 40th). So, this year I got back into it a little but was really slow. Forgot how to push myself. Also getting a lot of injuries. I am using 2013 to get some speed and motivation back while working on injury prevention. My husband bought me race wheels and an aero helmet for Christmas so now I need the body to go with the equipment.
Scott...nice to know there is a local on the EN team. I'm new to the area and would live to hear about safe training ride routes in the springs area for small groups/ solo rides. Go Air Force!
First time doing any type of online thing. Been doing Triathlon's for 5 years. 8 halves and IMMOO in the books plus many other olympic and sprints. I have been training with a great coach in Jax. FL. Just looking for a change and some people to race rain with and ready to focus on hitting new levels. Heard great things about Team EN and ready to check it out.
Hi all, I'm Nate! I'm new to the sport and am training for IMTX 2013. I've been using Joe Friel's 'your best triathlon' and am looking for a quality program that gives me more time during the week for more important things. If anyone has used Friel's plan and has an opinion on whether the EN $$$ is worth the switch I'd love to hear from you! Thanks!
@Aaron - If you want to hit new levels, and stay sane doing it, I think you picked the right place.
@Nate - I can't speak to Friel's plan, but I can say without a doubt that the modest amount I (we) pay here is the absolute best ROI (Return on Investment) in the entire tri space....period. Everything about the plans is ROI, and they will still allow you to concentrate on the "more important things."
Hello and Happy New Year from Deutschland (Germany),
I am commited to doing a IM 70.3 in Weisbaden this August and several olympic races along the way. I have been on/off again road cyclist for about 8 years and have 3 half marathons under my belt. Started looking at doing triathalons and was able to do a sprint before we moved to Germany in 2009 (wife is active duty stationed in Landstuhl, Germany). Not able to train seriously till late this past year with working as a Software Engineer with HP and raising our child Sophia. With the prospect of me not working this January and us possibly looking at our last year here in Germany, I believe this is the year for 70.3 and next year for the full.
I am interested in hearing about folks using the EN outseason plan with the EN Half/Full training plans? What is the value add factor with being a part of the community? I have enjoyed reading Coach Patrick's books and articles. Also, has anyone been provided swim coaching with video analysis through EN. I have committed at this point to at least to the outseason plan.
Joe - Maybe we can meet @ Austin 70.3. USMA has a claim on being the service academy long course champs but USAFA intends to de-throne this year. I'm running it as my A race for moral support. I also have our conference race @ Havasu and another olympic in Tempe the day after nationals on my race list too.
Hi Everyone! I'm Tomas from New Orleans, LA. I'm registered for IMFL 2013, Augusta 70.3, and Gulf Coast 70.3 in PCB, FL. Running is my strongest sport and biking greatly improved this summer. I need to do lots of swim training! I was training this winter for the Louisiana Marathon on 1/20/13 but got a calf sprain and no running for 3 weeks derailed my plans. Looking forward to training with EN this year
