Greetings. I'm Lee and I live in Central Washington (Wenatchee). I will be racing IM CDA at the end of June for the 3rd. time. I've been involved with triathlons since 1983, racing Bud Light Series events, and others, in Hawaii from 1983 - 2000. I lived on Oahu for 27 years before moving to Wenatchee, WA in June of 2000. I am 59 years old and a Christian.
Sanity is important. Running a biz at the same time and raising 2 kids makes any extra hour important. I have heard great thing about EN and time management. If it is half as good as I hear then I am all in.
Hello all, My name is Tim 50 years old from El Paso, TX. New to triathlon I've done 2 sprints in the last couple months came off the couch in July 2012 and lost 50 lbs since then. One more sprint scheduled the first of Feb. then training for my first Olympic distance in late May. The Capital of Texas in Austin. I was hoping to complete 3 races at each distance before moving up to the next. Started thinking about first 70.3 in November 2013 in Lake Havasu - HITS series's. running is my weakest area not sure if moving up to 70.3 is a good idea from couch in 15 months. Any suggestions? I train alone for the most part my wife does train with me but she is limited due to injury. .Looking forward to being part of the community and learning and staying motivated. Been off of my routine since Christmas Day but am ready to hit it hard again starting Friday. Happy New Year!
Hi Everyone, I am excited to join Team EN. I am looking forward to the moral support and to having someone else to be accountable to.
I got off the couch when I turned 50 (4 years ago) and hoped to do a 5K. That was so fun I started doing half marathons, a couple fulls and then decided to try triathlon to give my arthritic knees a little relief. Since then I have done a quite a few sprints, and two 70.3s. Last year I qualified for the 5150 HyVee Championships in DesMoines. That was pretty cool for this old grandma. But I still keep thinking about Ironman, and decided I will be in a new age group this year and I better try it, so I signed up for IM Coeur d'Alene. Here we go!
I've been racing Tri for about 6 years mostly to bring balance to my life, not really for competition. I've completed IM TX 2011 and doing IM CDA in June. Knee injury is plaguing me, but I have to get cracking...

MJ! Welcome to the team! We've met at Marco and Lorena's Tri-Sition before. This is a great community and glad you are on-board!
I am in the trial period and I like what I see so far. My concern is that I am not that great at following directions/pushing myself intensity wise on my own. How do you guys find that motivation? Also, I have been squeezing in a bootcamp/strength training class twice a week or so in the off season, when training picks up I aim for once a week because of time constraints. Is that considered a good thing or bad thing?
HI, everyone. I am Steve from Mississippi. I am fairly new to triathlon, doing my first sprint distance in 2011. Last year I finished my first olympic distance (New Orleans 5150) and my first 70.3 (Augusta). I am primarily a runner but I enjoy the triathlons. My plan for 2013 is to do more HIM distance races. I am not fast, so I like the longer distances in both running and trithlon.
Checking out EN during the trial period option. I am looking for a more balanced life while enjoying tri's. I did IMLP last year and IMCDA the year before so my schedule needs to get back into balance this year and will work on swim and run. Hoping to return to IM distance in 2014 and wanted to see how EN could help me with balancing training time and life so I don't miss out on my family time/responsibilities.
I'm from Perth, Australia, have done two HIM over the last 2 years and am looking to do another in 2013 (Busselton 70.3) and a full (Ironman WA). I've been playing around with intensity in the run over the last 3-4 months and am hoping to sharpen up for this year's events.
New to the team and trying out EN to see if I can push myself to the next stage and become a stronger triathlete. I will be doing my first full ironman this year in Sweden and really want to train right (injury free) and enjoy this great journey I have upon me.
@Tim - my personal experience has been that ANYTHING is possible if you have the desire, determination, and dedication (I'm big on 'D' words! ;-) I started running and learned to swim in February of 2010, did four sprints that season, and did IMLou the following year (8/2011). It's absolutely possible. If you want it, go get it!
@Dana - WOW lady! Good for you!!! I am SO super impressed with our 50+ crew here in EN... you will LOVE it!!!
@Christina - I completely get where you're coming from! I don't like to hurt!!! The good news is that because you'll be testing as part of your EN training plan, all of your workouts will be tailored to your ability... and in all honesty, all of our goals are different. Some of the peeps in the Haus are great at crushing themselves and are incredible athletes.... and some of us are in it for fun (well... most of us are in it for fun - we just define "fun" differently!). But no matter WHAT, you will always have a support system here in EN to give you a swift kick in pants or a dose of mojo if you need it! All you have to do it put up a post on the Dash and guaranteed, you'll have responses within minutes helping you get back on track. Regarding boot camp/strength training... well... it's not the norm to strength train in the OutSeason in EN (more on that from Coach Rich here: http://tinyurl.com/acvl98o). Personally, I'm injury-prone and generally do ~20-30 minutes of core work and pelvic stability stuff with resistance bands 4-5x/week.
@EVERYONE - you're all in the right place!!! Welcome!!!
You nailed it on the head Sara. Finding a forum where everyone on it can relate. I feel very safe to post my successes and failures on this teams dashboard and forums, because I know that I will get nothing but support.
I'm Brian from Katy, TX. I'm fairly new to tri's, completed my first sprint the fall of 2011. I did two sprints and a 70.3 in 2012 and I'm going for IM 70.3 Galveston in April and IMTX in May, oh yeah, Houston Marathon in a week!
I have a great group of friends that are very dedicated to training, but we are all not in the same place, so I joined EN to get a plan that is more tailored for me and where I'm at.
I am looking forward to hearing from you all and having a great 2013.
I'm Yvette Irons from Simi Valley, CA. I'm checking out EN on the Trial membership. Although I've been competing triathlon for 3 short years (1st year sprints, 2nd year oly, 3rd year 70.3) I've been fairly successful in OLY, but it's the 70.3 distance where I feel most comfortable and competitive.
I've competed in 3 HIM last year with success in results: time and placing. I'm that "A" personality, overachiever type, I compete not complete. (I read that in one of the coaches posts :-) ) Had a nearly 25 minute improvement from Oceanside 70.3 in March to Vineman 70.3 in July. Not bad for a 52 year old. AND I'm self coached, I must be doing something right!
So what bring me to EN, you ask?
As I prepare for this season I realize the degree of improvement may not be as great as last year. While I'm fairly confident in what I have been doing the last 3 years. However, I can't but think there's something I'm NOT doing, or am doing that I shouldn't be doing....That will fine tune my training and translate into RACING FASTER and QUALIFY FOR WORLD'S 70.3!
Please be patient with this sometimes stubborn ol' gal and her many questions ! Thanx in advance for all your wisdom and experience!

Brian - welcome to the Team! If you are ever in the San Antonio area, give me a shout. Plenty of good races and training venues!
I'm Linda, trial member from Bellingham, Washington. I started about 6 years ago w/ sprint distance, and challenged myself a little more each year till '11 when I did Lake Stevens HIM. In '12 I did very little of anything, and got sick of that. I'm doing Challenge Penticton Aug '13, and am really looking forward to getting some structure and guidance for my first IM distance tri. I know I can do it, and will do it, but feel much less experienced than many I've read from on EN. Advice is welcome!
Live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I have run several marathons, and did my first HIM last October and and signed up for IMAZ in November (yes I do recognize the foolishness of just jumping into it) . I plan to run the Eugene marathon in April while on the Out Season plan. And a couple of other races along the way.The high intensity, less time bike schedule in the OS plan, fits my needs better at this time.
Hello all from the Pacific NW. New 'Trial' member (for 48 more hours or so). I am an Ironman Coeur d'alene junkie, 4 out of 4 finishes out in beautiful coeur d'alene. Stupid, but couldn't ignore the Lake Tahoe IM e-mails, so that is my A+ race @ end of September '13. Hope me meet and learn a great deal from everyone!
I am Kevin from Anaheim, CA. I have been doing Tri's for 10 years and look forward to utilizing a new training system. This year I plan to mix up my schedule with some Tri's, marathons, and even an ultra Marathon! See you out there!
I AM IN IT FOR ME !!! AND I HAVE LOTS OF DOUBTERS---BUT I AM RELATIVELY A NEWBIE AND NEED LOTS OF HELP MANY DO NOT BELIEVE I CAN DO A 1/2 IRONMAN WELL THIS IS THE YEAR WITH THE HELP OF EN ENDURANCE NATION!!

Hi all! I am a relative new comer to the sport (2 years). I have completed 6 sprints and olympics, and plan to complete my first 70.3 this year to celebrate my 40th birthday.
I am coming back from injury and surgery which cut my season very short last year. I have been given the all clear and a complete bill of health! I am looking forward to getting to my happy place...training and playing hard!
Hi all. I'm a new trial member from Iowa. I've done a few sprints fairly slowly and one olympic but want to do Austin HIM this fall. Thought I would check EN out as I've heard so many great things.

Hi Everyone -
