  • Hello everyone, My name is Darren Herrling . I am training for IM Lake Placid in July of 2014. Just about to kick off training. I will be asking tons of questions so I apologize ahead of time .
  • Hello everyone, I am returning to EN after a long hiatus. With a few health scares this summer I lost all motivation and routine. After about 4-5 months of being a slob I have finally reached the pinnacle of being a slob. It is time to get back to where I was and start to take care of my mind and body. Glad to be back!

  • Hi Everyone - my name is Sean from DC. My wife and I are doing CdA in June. I'm pretty much a zombie at this point between training, work, and kids. So if I don't respond to anyone please assume it's because I've collapsed somewhere...image mainly we do races as an excuse to spend our kid's college fund on gear that will make us marginally faster and sell for 50% off in a year when we rage quit after a pothole wrecks another rim. So, yeah, Hi!
  • Hi Team,

My name is Chris Ciannella and I live in New Lenox, Illinois.  My big race in 2014 is IMWI - first time at the ironman distance!

Looking forward to training with Team EN!

    Chris

  • Hello all,

My name is Michael and I have been doing shorter distance tri's for about 3 years.  This year I am doing my first half IM.  I am in Grayslake IL.  Last year I completed my first marathon and Olympic distance tri.

  • Hey

    Patrick Dalton here.

Was a member when training for IMMT 70.3 in 2011.  Joined back up to prep me for IMMT 70.3 and 140.6 in Mont Tremblant this year!

I'm in St. John's, Newfoundland which is off the east coast of Canada.  I'm in IT (DBA) and am also a Realtor in my spare time.  So if you need a database or want to sell your house, I'm your guy!   image

Looking forward to a good few months of torture. image

  • Hello all,

Atlanta, GA is my home and am in my 4th season in Triathlon and find that it keep me feeling young. I get to hang out with athletes of all ages and compete against myself. I am trying to keep the injuries at bay through smart training and have fun too. I have raced at all distances, performed very well and looking forward to a great season with my A race being Ironman Chattanooga.
  • Welcome all! I'll see you in Chattanooga Jim! Going to be awesome!
  • @Jim I am in Roswell and doing IMCHOO if you want to ride let me know.
  • My name is Steve and I am from Maryland.  I have been a triathlete for 5 years.  I have competed in the Ironman Eagleman 70.3 four times and did IM Lake Placid in 2012.  All of my training has been done with plans I pulled from the internet and with the help of triathletes from my club called Cambridge Mulitsport.  I feel that I have done well, but I know I am not achieving my goals so I am looking to get better.
  • Hi everybody,
My name is David and i live in Indianapolis. I have done several sprint triathlons in the last several years and signed up for Augusta 70.3 in September. On a recommendation of a very good friend who is a very strong triathlete,I signed up with EN to get a comprehensive training plan for this year and try to train well.. versus just training and spending time!
Stronger on the bike, decent on the run and poor on the swim could be a recap of my fitness level.

    David
  • My name is Charles. I'm from Edmond, OK and started participating in multi-sport events in 2008. I've done several duathlons, a few sprint and olympic distance triathlons and 3 half iron distance triathlons. I consider myself mainly a runner with 10 marathons under my belt including one Boston Marathon in 2012. Doing a full iron distance triathlon has been on my bucket list for awhile and since I'm not getting any younger, decided to pull the trigger this year and registered for Ironman Couer d'Alene on June 29, 2014.  As part of my training, I may participate in Ironman Texas 70.3 in April. Based on the recommendations of two or three triathletes in my area, I decided to sign up with EN. I'm looking forward to the journey that lies ahead!
  • Hello everyone. My name is Al Etienne and I currently live in Melbourne Florida. I have been lurking the team for the last year and joined because I was able to get into IMFL 2014. I have done two HIM races and several sprint and Olympic races over the last three years. I have been on and off with training, but plan to take this year seriously, hence the full and joining the team. I am 43 and have four children with my wife Kimber. I am in IT (network security) and enjoy many varied interest from competitive shooting to skydiving and recently aquaponics. I have been training with a local group, but most of the members are geared toward sprint and Olympic distance races. I look forward to being a part of EN and learning about IM execution and training.
  • Hi guys.  Name is Christian.  I'm planning on doing Ironman Florida this year for the fourth time.  Last year was the slowest so I decided it was time to join the EN team so I can go faster, not slower.  I live in Florida, so sorry to everyone else in the country where it is cold.  Looking forward to getting started and going faster.

  • To all the new members: Welcome!

The best thing you can do is dive into the forums, ask questions, and begin having conversations with our member, your team mates. How EN "works," with regards to the support and community piece, is very difficult for us to explain when you're on the outside. Now that you're on the inside you have an opportunity to observe and participate, deciding for yourself if we are a good fit for you.

    Good luck!

  • Hello, my name is Carla and I live in the Baltimore/DC area.  I'm a slow, fat triathlete with four sprint tri's, a few half marathons and a bunch of mud run/5K's under my belt.  My goal this year is to finish a half IronMan (Eagleman), learn to have the right nutrition while training and for the long race, plus so much more....handling training and family, keeping injury free (is that even realistic??) to name a few...

I look forward to the advice and support EN seems to offer.

  • Hi All,

My name is Philip. It's nice to be back. I was a member a few years ago and had a great time with EN. I'm coming off a 2 year break from training and racing. Had an illness and then a narly bike crash that kept me on the couch for a spell.

I live in Boulder, CO and am in for IM Boulder this year. I'll be in a new age group (45-49), it will be my 10th IM.

  • Hello all,

My name is Lisa and I live and work in the Boston area and am in the 45-49 age group. I am pretty new to triathlon (I completed 3 sprint tri's last year) but have run 2 marathons, a handful of half marathons, and lots of shorter road races. I am looking forward to moving up to the Olympic distance this year and hope to complete at least 2 Olympic triathlons in 2014. The challenge for me, like many of you, I suspect, is balancing training, work, and family and staying healthy. I have heard great things about EN and look forward to all that I can learn.
  • Hello,

My name is Dave and I live in Redondo Beach, Ca. I've been doing triathlons since the mid 2000's and started into long course races a few years ago completing Vineman Full, and IMAZ. The races were great and I had a lot of fun completing them, but made some rookie mistakes that made the races harder than they should have been. I took 2013 off from triathlon and decided to run the LA Marathon and complete an endurance mountain bike race in So Cal called Counting Coup. I am signed up this year for the Vineman Full Aquabike and IMAZ again. I used an EN plan for training for my first Arizona race and it worked well, but I need to get my head back in tri's, be held accountable, and be more focused for this year. I'm excited to be checking the team out and joining! Good to see the support in the forums!
  • Hi all, My name is kerry grace, 59 yr male, live in Darwin Australia. A multi sport person all my life and like the mix of tri disciplines. Thought that I was a good swimmer, cyclist and runner individually but it's turns out I'm more of a bull dozer in the pool, a bow legged peddler and a plodder. Did my first 70.3 in sept 2013 at Mooloolaba Australia in over 7 hours, then did the Athens Classic marathon in Novemeber in 5hrs.
Would like to participate in EN to look at how I can improve my times across all disciplines. I have just retired from full time work so I have the flexibility in my training schedule now. Planning to do 2/3 ODs, 1/2 70.3s, a marathon and maybe a full IM in December 2014 in Perth Australia
    Cheers
    kerry
  • Welcome Kerry, you have come to the right place!
I am doing IM Australia at Port Macquarie in May.
Perhaps you will do it too.
I have done the 70.3 at Busselton about 4 times — it's a super course, and very flat (unlike Port).
    Cheers
    Peter
ps if you want to know anything, just ask. EN is awesome!
  • Hi! I'm Julie Romano. I'm 38 F & live in NYC with my husband and bulldog Bruno.

I am signed up for my first IM 6/21 - HITS Hague this year. I completed my first HIM - Barb's Race during the Vineman Full last year in 6:34 on a rented bike after being hit by a car 3 weeks prior to race time. My primary goal is to finish my first IM strong. I'm honestly not too fixated on time although I think I can do it in 13-14 hrs. I'm also doing the NYC Tri for my 3rd time again this year. Besides those races, I will be doing a lot of open water swim races around NYC & depending on how things go I'm considering a 10K OWS in Sept. I've haven't done that may tris but I feel pretty comfortable with them. I completed my 4th marathon in November.

Test driving a 7 day trial so far. I trained for my HIM solo but I think my biggest weakness is nutrition & am looking for some specific guidance. Thanks!

  • Hello everyone, Eric DePoto from Charlotte, NC. Real excited about this. I have been putting my own training together since I started doing tri's. So now I get to go to the next level. Big races for me this year are Challenge AC and IM Boulder. Along with some short distance tri's and organized rides the year is already feeling exciting.
  • Hi Everyone,

My name is Tim Kaufmann, from Sheboygan, WI.  I've done Ironman Racine 70.3 the last 2 years, and finished just under 7 hours.  I have a slight weight problem, as I like to eat.  I weigh around 200 lbs. +/- and want to get down to 175 for Ironman Wisconsin in September.  I have the following races on my race list:  High Cliff Half-Ironman (6/14/14), Ironman Racine 70.3 (7/14/14), and Ironman Wisconsin (9/7/14).  I am wanting to train to finish Ironman Wisconsin comfortably.  I am not out to win, but to have fun.  If I PR a 70.3, I will be happy.  I am doing this to be healthy and trim, and have fun.  This will be my first full Ironman.  I trained poorly for Ironman Wisconsin last year, and had a bike crash in August (minor injuries to me and my bike).  I look forward to this year and conversing with you all.

    Tim

  • Hello EN and fellow Triathletes.

I am Howard or if you prefer Howie. I live in the New Brunswick, NJ area. For those Rutgers fans-go Scarlet Knights-Go Big 10 baby! Proud father of two boys, 28 & 25 and married to the same beautiful woman for 37 years this coming June. In a couple of days I turn 59. I have been sports minded most of my life and involved in various athletic activities at various levels throughout the years. This past year I completed my 8th NYC marathon; last year I did Philly (hey it takes me about 5 hours to complete). Two years ago, after several years of hesitation, I got my feet wet and tusch sore with some triathlons. I have done the NYC Olympic Tri two years ago and in 2013 I did the Philadelphia TriRock Olympic and about three other Olympic distances and a few sprints besides numerous half marathons over the course of 2013. Now that Challenge AC decided to do their inaugural Ironman distance in virtually my own back yard -I could not resist- so with some real trepidation here I am. I certainly will need EN guidance and the valuable input from all of you guys- so in advance-thank you very much!!
  • Hi, EN.

I'm Leslie Knight, active duty Air Force stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.  I started triathlon in 2008 after I realized I was swimming, biking, and running.  The AF made me run, I started swimming for cross training, and the run club I joined at the AF base in Japan had some cyclists who let me join them and I loved it.  Until last year, I used to say "I do triathlons".  Then one day I realized, "I am a triathlete".  Whole different mind set!  I've done 3 HIMs, a 100 mile tri last Oct, and have my sights set on Ironman Hawaii 70.3 in May and Beach to Battleship in NC in Oct.  That will be my first attempt at the distance.  Not sure when I'll ever have a job again that allows me this much flexibility and time to train, so better do it now!  I'm also doing my 4th marathon in March (Bataan Death March) and fill summers here with century rides.  There's no open water within 3 hrs of here, and I hate pool races, so not too much tri action happening.  I've always been self coached and I'm looking forward to trying something new, but honestly, the "lack of control" and total change has me a little freaked out.

  • Julie,

Welcome. Is it a a Frenchie or an English bulldog. We love our Frenchie named Lalo after Cafe Lalo on 83rd and Amsterdam in the city.. Best of luck!

  • He's a English mixed with 1/4 French Mastiff - We live in the FiDi. Thanks!!
  • Hello everyone

My name is Brandon Canada. I am an Army Physical Therapist living on Oahu. I am training for the 70.3 Hawaii. This will be the 2nd yr for competing in this race and my 3rd ever 1/2-IM distance race. The previous races I trained myself. I am really looking forward to working with EN this time!
  • Welcome, Brandon.  I did Hawaii 70.3 in 2012 and plan to do it again this year (not registered yet).  It was a great race- challenging course with record winds in 2012 (Lance won that one), but absolutely beautiful.  Good luck with your training!
