Hey what's up? I just signed up for the trial membership with the intent of becoming a full fledged member 5 days from now. I came across endurance nation while doing research on training plans for Ironman. I'm a runner who trained with speed workouts for the 1st time this year and saw great results over previous years. That's what appealed to me about endurance nation. I look forward to training hard in the upcoming off season and then PR'ing in all my races next year. I'll be focused on training for my first Ironman in Wisconsin 2012!!!
Hi! I'm Robin from Chicago, have completed several Olympic distances and looking to move up to to Half Iron. Looking to complete Muncie and the newly announced Rev3 Florida this year. Attracted to EN because as I was looking for plans/strategy I felt like the focus on quality over quantity workouts suited me best. Looking forward to making strong and smart gains this next year.
I'm Antonia from just north of NYC. On the five day trial, but will be joining EN for sure. For the past couple of years I've been listening to the podcast, and told myself that I'd look into joining the team if I registered for a full. Well...it's time...doing IMLP in 2012...so EXCITED!!
I was a swimmer in High School, but didn't start running until 2008. A friend recommended that I run a 5K, but warned me that I might get hooked. I thought if I'm going to train, why not run a half marathon. That was the start of my love of all things endurance. I've since done 36 races -- mostly Sprint to Half Ironman, with a couple duathlons, half marathons, and one 5k sprinkled in.
Looking forward to some serious, fun, quality training...and a kick @## 2012 season.
Hi! I'm living just north of Chicago in Evanston, IL. I completed my first IM this year in Madison, WI. It was a beautiful day. The training was so much fun I also signed up for next year. I'm very interested in learning more about training and getting some valuable coaching. I'm glad to be looking through everything here during the trial and who knows - I may join up! I'm on that same five year plan as Pat - I'm going to Kona! Thank you to Rich and Patrick for setting this up - I see some great possibilities for me
I have been following EN training plans on and off for the past 4 years and have had great success with them. I'm a short course duathlete and do 99% of my training solo, so I'm wondering if having access to the expertise of RnP along with the rest of the team will enable me to bring my fitness to the next level
For most of 2011, duathlon took a back seat to strength training and body comp. I made some good gains in those areas, but now I have the itch to get back into serious short course racing again.
I'm a longtime Ottawa, Canada resident, living in London, UK for the next year. My bike is in storage back in Canada, so I am viewing the next year as one wicked-long run focus block. Because of this, 2012 will be mostly 5k and 10k racing. I also want to continue strength training, as the health and vanity benefits are important to me. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who:
has had success blending EN training with strength training
has done an very long short-course run focus block like I am about to do
Trial member in state of Washington. Two seasons of competition from sprint to ironman distance. Age 62 and looking to make some significant time improvement. Lottery at Kona 2011, dnf, missed bike cutoff. Want to go back for sure.
Hey Harry, Welcome aboard! Look up Al Truscott, in the forums. He's our resident wicked fast old guy, super helpful. Also lives in Washington, with many other members.
My name is Ben and I am a new member. I've only been in the sport of triathlon a couple years, primarily focused on the 70.3 distance. I joined EN to get me ready for my first full iron, IMNYC in August.
Hello everyone, My name is Doug and as of today I am a full fledged member. I am excited to be on the team and learn a lot about the sport of triathlon and how to train for long distance courses. My background is as a runner; I've only dabbled in short sprint triathlons. I'll be competing in HIM Syracuse in June and IM Wisconsin in September. Both will be my first races at their respective distances. I live in Rochester, NY and will be spending a lot of time on the treadmill and trainer (or drainer as I've learned it's called!!!) during the upcoming winter as I follow the OS plan. I'll probably get outside for some longer runs once in a while but I'm not a big fan of running in the cold. Nice to meet everyone!
Coming off a long summer of recovery after a bike wreck took me down 2 days before IM Couer D'alene (beware of mile 88). Ready to get rolling again into half distance. Ready to bounce back. I am plagued with way too healthy of an appetite. I also train at crazy hours and wish there were more hours in the day. Looking forward to any help I can get.
I'm a trial member, and would love to hear your insights on the team.
I live in El Doradho Hills, CA. I mostly race 70.3s, but took on my first IM in Florida last week. I officially have the IM bug. Will be doing Vineman Full next July and also racing Wildflower (or maybe Napa Vintage 70.3).
I travel often and previously used Training Peaks and downloaded workouts into my Outlook calendar. This may not be the best place to ask - but is that possible with EN plans?
Checking out EN. Finishing my 3rd tri season. Completed IMLP in July, and am signed up for IMMT in August. My friend Steve LOVED working with EN for his IMLP race, and anyway, I am hoping to improve this season.
Hi, trying out the Endurance Nation team to get me ready for my first HIM in 2012!
I am on a weight loss and fitness journey - have lost 47 pounds in the past 9 months and completed my first Sprint tri ever, first Olympic tri ever, and first half-marathon in over 8 years. My 62 year old dad completed his first HIM this year in Augusta, and has convinced me to compete with him in the Gulf Coast HIM in Panama City this upcoming May 12th. I suspect we may be the only father / son combo competing in that event!
Hello EN team. I am a trial member & wanted to say hi, & request a little feedback. Firstly through I also wanted to acknowledge the loss of Chris with condolences to his family & all that knew him. I am in Australia so would appreciate feedback from any fellow aussies on how the whole online coaching thing has worked for them inc what they like, as well as what they think could be improved (with regard the coaching etc). Also, it would be a great help to get feed back from any other athletes that have joined EN with already a solid(?) track record, & how they have found further progression. I have been doing tri’s for about 11 years, have done 5 IM’s starting in 2005 & usually race every 2nd year (& this way my wife lets me stay married) with a pb of 9.21 (on a VERY flat course) in Dec 2010 at age of 44. Thanks in advance AB
Hello everyone: I am a trial member hoping to get some good help in my qwest to do and complete my first Ironman at Arizona in 2012.. I am a 44 year old Male and Live in the USA. 2012 will be my 3rd year doing triathlons most of which are sprint or Olympic with a Half IM this year and a few half marathons and one full marathon under my belt. I am hoping EN will help guide me through this season with a smart preperation plan for all my planned events and most importantly try and keep me healthy leading up to Ironman Arizona. Hope to see and talk to a lot of you in the forums.
@Randy - welcome to "Da Haus"! You'll find a great amount of resources for anything you can imagine. Start with wiki and then dive into race reports and join the IMAZ group. You won't be diasppointed! EN will give you through the race including a Team Race Captain on site!
@AB - after two years of nothing but IM and HIM, I did one OS and the Short Course Training for this last year. I regained my pre-IM speed from about 5 years ago. Although I planned to do an IM this year with my regained speed, I'm having so much fun I'm going to delay my IM for another year. There are plenty more testimonies out there that are stronger than mine once they did an IM after an OS on the same course. Welcome to the EN Team!
Hi! New trial member here! Have self-coached through 3 IMs (latest IMAZ) and am ready to PR with #4 at IMFL in 2012. Hoping EN can help me work out some race execution issues. I'm in the Tampa area and am connected to a handful of local tri clubs and running clubs. Always looking for more training partners! Glad to see everyone! Stacey
Greeting EN Athletes: I just came off the 5 day trial and found a message asking me to introduce myself. I am a fairly newly minted IM person having completed three (all three) in the last year including Beach2Battleship, IM Texas and IM Florida. Prior to my big three IM year I did Muncie 1/2 three times, Steelhead 1/2 once, and a local 1/2 IM called the Tawas Triathlon Festival (with a swim in Lake Huron). I reside in central Michigan (Mt. Pleasant) about 2 hours from everything. I've never set food on the podium at any triathlon ever, though I have gotten close a couple of times. My goal is to someday find my way to the podium in a B/C level race. My dream is, like others in this sport, to get myself to the level of the top 5-10% of the athletes (that is age group athletes) in an IM event and to get within a prayer of Kona. Any of your thoughts are always welcome. I'll be happy to share any of mine. Steve.
Just joined after riding with one of your members this past weekend and hearing some enthusiastic recommendations for EN! I am doing my first IM in 2012 (Lake Placid) and need some help figuring out the do's and don'ts for long course training. Looking forward to being here.
Hey everyone, good to see all the new faces in here!

After you become a member, check out the New Member Central page, your go-to resource for getting started with the team.
Finally, be sure to ask any questions you have in the forums. What makes EN so unique is the width and depth of experience that our members happily share with anyone. Soooo much to learn but it starts with you asking and participating in discussions with your teammates!
I'm Eric out of Springfield, MO, and I am a new trial member. I am recently new to triathlon with two years of experience. Last year I did HIM's and looking to get faster with better training and education from the EN team.
Looking forward to being part of the EN TEAM. I am new the sport of Tri, TRI, TRI Athlon. In it for the fun, challenge, and excitement. Running is my background, and the first time I used a kick board I went Backwards....this is many sessions ago. Again, I say hello to the fellow EN Team Members.
Hi everyone, My name is Phil and I live in Whangerei, New Zealand however working in Parkes, New South Wales, Australia. I work as a management consultant and travel a fair amount. I am married with 2 Boys which I get to see about every three weeks. I have been working in Mining for the last 10years.
In my late 20's (Im 46 now) I trained to complete a Ironman however I chickened out as I didn't believe I was good enough on the bike. I had a very good friend who went to Kona and he sparked my interest in Triathlon. Ive regretted not doing a IM ever since and have decided to give it a shot again. However Im 30Kg heavier and very unfit. My goal is to complete an Ironman which Im expecting to take several years and to complete the Comrades Marathon (I lived in RSA for 7 years).
I listened to the EN podcasts and was impressed with the philosophy so decided to bite the bullet. Ive always followed the LSD training philosophy and as I tried to do the OS FTP test on the bike tonight (and completely messed that up) expecting a big shock to the system. Looking forward to being a good example for my sons again.
I have some questions on the FTP test-where should I ask them?

Hello All,
I am planning on doing the IM St. George and in my prep phase I picked up the video that EN put out and I instantly thought "these are the folks".
I am very excited to take on this challenge and am looking forward to hammering through the winter for the May payout.
btw, this will be my first ever triathlon. I am a great type "A" personality and a lousy type "B", so it is time to put my "A" game back together.
