100 pushups challenge SPREADSHEET UP
Hiya folks,
Program is at hundredpushups.com.
You can visit the Tracking Sheet at:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AqMaqMVrQF3qdDdxZVNXbDhpNUZuSFk1bkh6QnpzdWc&hl=en.
Rules (v 12.13)
1. Challenge participants should enter by no later than Dec 20
2. Rules will be an adaptation of the program ('the Program') at hundredpsuhups.com.
3. in the event of a conflict between these rules and the program, the program shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.
4. despite the above, medical clearance and/or advice is not required.
5. The EN honour system should be used when recording pushups. That said, pics and vids are cool too.
6. pushups can be 'good form' or 'alternative.' I'll be doing the alternative-cum-girly-pushup when the going starts to get tough.
6b. Going will get tough for me circa Dec 22.
Incentivization for the Nation
Participants completing 100 pushups by Jan 25 2010 will receive the specially designed (I haven't designed it yet) 'Endurance Nation 100 Pushups Merit Badge' - the first in a series of EN Merit Badges, perfect for sig posting, bragging rights, and street cred.
Let's get this party of pushups started,
Dave

Any takers?
I remember someone posted this program (http://hundredpushups.com/index.html) on the boards last year. I was intrigued, but I was also lazy. In the winter months, lazy trumps intrigue. So it never happened.
From where i sit with my spindly little runner arms, 100 pushups seems pretty much impossible. What better reason could there be to try?

Post your pre-program numbers here too - unless someone can create another challenge forum (which I can't get to google docs here at work).
If not, we can EN-ize it and do it however we want.
Vince
In the meantime, I've changed the subject line to a Monday December 14 start date. That means y'all will be doing 100 pushups Jan 25.
Also, I remember Rich musing about fitness-type challenges in an earlier blog, vid, or some other EN communique, which in my books is about as as good as signing up. Rich?
Then I started to think, "yeah, this would be fun"
Then at the end I was thinking "I should start really low, even if I can do more."
HA! I am already planning to be a slacker!
I'm in.
I would be interested in that too! They also have a 200 squat challenge
See the first post in the thread for ongoing rules, resources and info.
Tracking Sheet is now posted at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AqMaqMVrQF3qdDdxZVNXbDhpNUZuSFk1bkh6QnpzdWc&hl=en.
Feel free to make any tuneups to any of the above to improve the user experience.
I did 22 to start.
@Kristen 200 situps would be good too but I'm not sure I need all these challenges at once.

WOW! You don't have very far to go!!! I'll do my test at lunch today. I think I'll be lucky to eek out 10!
Loooong way to go- but I'm excited to get to 100. I don't think I've EVER done that many! Great Challenge Dave!
