  • I am in. I do 4-5 sets of 35 pushups a day...so this should be good...can't imagine the burn...

    P
  • In. Will test when I get home from work....not gonna be pretty!image
  • We do max pushups twice a year for our Navy physical readiness test. That plus max situps and a 1.5 mi run. My last test was 3 days before IMFL. I did 76 pushups, 95 situps and ran a 9:20 (my fastest is 9:08 6 months earlier).

So I'll log in with a starting point of 75 (for round numbers)
  • Sounds fun...I'm in!
  • OK...the 5 I can do make me feel very insignificant.....you guys are animals...image
  • Ok so I did 82... So close but from the feelings of my arms SOOOO far away!

The longer I sit here the worse it gets! my arms are like jello now!
  • 15.

Told you I needed this challenge.

  • OW OW OW OW!!!! I just did Day 1 workout for this week. I just hope I can even lift my arm enough to drink coffee tomorrow- they are gonna be sore!!!
  • I'm such a stinker! image

I printed out Week 1 workouts for this challenge and left them on the kitchen counter in clear view. Just as I hoped, Joe comes back from a meeting this morning and says "So, you trying to do 100 pushups?". I just say "uhu". And he says "Whenever I work on that I usually get up to about 50-60 and then I just get bored.....so is your plan to do it in 4 sets of 25?"

Tee hee hee- I swoop in for the kill. "No- 100 pushups strait through, no stopping or resting- that's the goal." He just kinda does this: image

So I say "I just started this plan- it's 6 weeks long and at the end I should be able to do 100 pushups. Why don't you do it with me- it could be fun if we do it together!".

I think I have him! Just a few more pokes (especially when he starts to fear I can do more than him) and I think I'll have a training buddy! image

I think this afternoon I'll mention how good the pushups would be for his surfing, that otta throw him over the edge! image
  • I'm in. Was looking for some motivation to regain some strength. I just tested out at 42 pushups and now I am having trouble typing.
  • My boys were curious and after I explained it to them they jumped in!

22 for Dad and 20 for each boy!

Put their names on the spreadsheet....hope you all don't mind.image
  • That's great Bryan! I don't mind at all- think it's really cool when our activities get spread to other members of the family. Joe just handed me the entire set of workouts printed out in a small pocket size guide. I asked him if he wanted me to add him to the EN Google Doc and he shook his head "I planned on just writing it on this pocket guide". I'm pretty sure he's "in"!
  • That is great Bryan! Tried to enlist my boys this morning, 19, 14, and 11. The 19 year old might be in and prolly can already do 100 image; the 14 says he already does many pushups in dryland training (he swims for the local hs swim team) so to add more "whats the point mom???" and my 11 year old just kind of rolled the eyes! It will be fun to see what your boys can do image
  • late starter here but I am gonna read about it, and yes in on the 100
  • I did Day 1 yesterday. My lats are so painful it's not funny.
  • Oh so freaking close already. 91 and none more in me. Sorry guys I'm a regular pushup guy.image
  • Nice trent! You should be at 100 in no time!
  • I usually do girly push-ups but this is a good time to step it up. Got my daughter involved, now to see if I can enlist my husband.

    14 reg pushups to start

  • I did 36 to start - wife did an impressive 16.
  • Week 1, day 2 for me, and it felt harder than Day 1. I am regretting this already. Luckily being accountable to EN will keep me from quitting. Also finding that I need to stretch my shoulders a lot more.
  • having trouble with getting to google spreadsheet, mine is a whopping 8, level two but the dog was diverting me!! as I struggled to get to 9, now to find the sheet to enter in 2' of situps? that was 50. m
  • Did 8 as my start the other day. need to do my day 1 workout. Lost some ground , last spring was able to do more. Thanks for getting this started
  • If you get above 30 on your test, you're supposed to skip to week 3 and use it as your week 1.

I did that, and just did 14/18/14/13/14, for a total of 73. All I have to say is OUCH!!!
  • I did Day 2 of week 1 this morning- 35 total pushups. Ouch!!! I did my best to rest & stretch my arms/shoulders out during those 90 second rests inbetween sets.

Hubby is completely in at this point. He's on week 3 as well and says it seems too easy. ARRRRRRRG!
  • I am in. I will start on the week of 20th.
  • The boys (13,10) and I have done 2 days of the routine this week and it seems to not even faze em!image
We all do the same number except for the "max" at the end. They are digging it and I am trying not to let them see me grimace!!image
  • I am late reading this but am up for the challenge. I will start the week of the 20th too. Great idea!
  • I am in-I can't bake, but I can do push-ups
  • hey can we get a fresh link to add in our names, ?? thanks. I did day one today. and yesterday's swim hurt from the initial test!! image
