Looks like I'll be able to get flights from Norfolk into Newark arriving/leaving around the same time as Matt- so that should make getting us to/from the airport a little easier. I'll be coming in on a prop so Scott, I will probably take you up on that offer since it will make getting the bike there a little easier. I'll probably just ship my road bike and race on it that weekend so I can have the TT bike for training.
Any other ladies joining us that would be willing to split a room?
Nemo (or anyone flying in for that matter) if you don't want to bring your bike, you might be able to borrow one... My wife has a 54cm WSD Trek Madone (105 equipped) with aerobars and/or a 51cm Blue Triad. You'd be welcome to borrow either if you think they would fit. I also have a 58cm Blue RC8 road bike (dura-ace) with aero bars someone could borrow. I also have a buddy with a (58cm I think) Cervelo P2 I'm sure I could borrow for the weekend. I also have a couple extra sets of Powertap training wheels and my wife's 808/404 Powertap Zipps as well. If you bring your measurements (and maybe your seat and pedals) we could set them up either Friday night or on Saturday.

Maybe you can room with Cary. Not only does he have a ladies name but he rides his bike like one as well!
OUCH! Tucker, that was rough! Looks like I've got a roomie with Beth so I'm set. Did we all finalize the hotel? There were a few options floating about and I want to be sure I book a room at the right one.

Wow Tucker, I thought we were rooming together! You were going to select the beer. I was in charge of the Fig Newtons, right?

Per withrow's post, here is another bike available: I have a Specialized Road Bike, Tarmac 2, SRAM Red, with PT hub, you will need a joule (there is a mount) or something else that will read power, you will need to bring your pedals. but assuming I go with my tri bike, this would be available to someone as well
ok, Pete Joachim got some info from the finally responsive group sales person at the lexington Resort is giving us a rate of $139 (+ taxes). People should call and mention EN to get the discount. Didn't seem like availability was an issue. Note - Pete cannot vouch for the quality of the place - most reviews were "okay". Biggest gripe seems to be that the place seems outdated an in need of some updating but nothing that would stop us from booking a quick 1-nite stay. And basically our group would just be using it for 1 short sleep over since we'd all be up early and, given the length of the race, probably not back in time for a late checkout (shower) -you should inquire about that if interested, they do appear to have a full size outdoor pool (for anyone looking to get a swim in....).
the guy Pete talked to in group sales is Eric Atkins. #845-626-8888.
I posted this in the Memorial thread as well....but thought I would copy here...I'm going to be driving up from Philadelphia...anyone looking to split the cost of lodging on Saturday? (Friday?)
Hey Guys, I've been off the forums for a few weeks so I wanted to check in here again.
Do we need to start book rooms at the Lexington hotel?
Also, EN Alumni Matt Sullivan is coming as well and will be on the same flights as Bruce and me. Will someone be able to help him out with logistics/rides/etc as well?
@ Matt A - My brother JT booked a room at the Lexington for him & me for Saturday night. I suggest that you book a room for you and perhaps Matt sullivan.
In terms of logistics, let me touch base with JT. He has an SUV that he can pick us up in, and I know he also has a roof rack on it. Depending on how many people come, a rental car may be needed. Also, I'm pretty sure JT has room for at least 3 of us to crash at his place on Friday and Sunday nights, about 30 minutes northwest of Newark airport. Let me confirm.
@All, lets worry about getting everyone from out of town to the NY area first. The rides/homestays will be there. Let's make sure we are all booked into hotel rooms. Has everyone signed into the race spreadsheet? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0At8t0x4dO0EHdG1XTFBVaWxTb21iYkRjT3AybGxJZXc#gid=0 I only see 17 signed up whereas I think we close to 25-30 in the race. If we are all signed up maybe we can see who is booked into a room and match some people up if needed.
For all those planning on coming out Friday, I'm thinking of a big team dinner/drinkfest at a local bar. Chris would want it that way.
Oh crap, I've got busy and let this go and have not really connected with anyone on picking up at airport and staying wherever that night and at race site too. I don't take much room and am pretty quiet but require lots of quality homegrown beer just like Chris. (that's what we enjoyed most at LP).

PS- if you haven't seen it yet, the RD has updated the website. The middle distance race is now officially called the "G" Chris Gleason Memorial Race.
IN. Officially.
My birthday is the day before the race, so this means we are surely kicking pre-race Gleason style.

Nemo, last time You, Tucker and I did the same race it was ugly. (Eaglman 2010 anyone - weather in cambridge md June13 2010 via wolframalpha.com?)
Wouldn't Have it any other way Tucker!
Beth's AmZo notes so far:
1. Bring tires that can handle a little mud.
2. Figure out how to train for trail running in flatlandia.
3. Make list of delicious beer to bring from Chicago.
Wow just realized that is right up the road ...I am gonna jump in...not sure which distance yet...the G looks tougher than the long course.

Also, I may be able to pick up/drop off out-of-town folks at JFK or LGA (being that JFK is literally 2.5 miles [as the crow flies] from my house).
Mr. Stark, perhaps we should add flight info to the spreadsheet?
Just want to confirm this is the place we settled on for Sat night.
I booked a room here last week for my brother Bruce and me. Also talked to Pete J and he was booking as well.
I'm officially in for the G1! ...um is there a OS Beer Interval Hack available?
