Keith, not sure on setup. I went around and around on this one. I decided to race on my Zipp 404's but I'm leaving my disc cover at home. I was also trying to decide between an aero helmet and regular helmet. That decision got made easily when I lent my aero helmet to a friend doing IMTX this weekend, so road helmet it will be. 0.8 sounds good, but I have a funny feeling this will be much harder than a flatish HIM. I may aim for something just below that on the first loop and dial it up or down on the 2nd loop as appropriate... Anyone else?
I think we should be happy if we get close to .8 on the second loop. After 10miles of running, with about 800ft of gain for each loop, the second bike loop is gonna hurt. A lot. This is going to be a sufferfest without a doubt. But shouldn't the real question be what should we target for running pace? All PE? It's just about all trail running.
Congratulations to everyone who managed to make it through a very grueling day! I know it's not an Ironman but it most definitely takes some grit to tackle any distance on this course. Great job everyone!
At Robin - yes. In fact, this year is the 25th annual Powerman Zofingen and ITU is honoring it by designating it the ITU World Duathlon (long course) Championship.
At John - does AMZOF sell out? The combined race results make it look pretty small.

Paul - it does sell out within a month or two, but the RD is very liberal with transfers, so if you're considering it, just register. If you can't make it I'm sure an EN teammate will take it off your hands. Good luck in Sweden!
Yeah, I know you were talking to my cousin. I've never done that race before so I'm not sure what I'm signing up for next season. This thing is a bit close to Quassy and just about as nasty. Plus, it's on my birthday. Do I really want to die on my 50th birthday?
Just do it Peter! Best race of the yr. Last yr I did AmZof, then Quassy 2 weeks later with no issues. Can't think of a better way to celebrate your birthday.
Here's the deal, if you're even _thinking_ about doing it, register. The slots are limited by the Mohonk preserve not the RD. The RD wants all of the slots filled (so they don't go to waste) and allows transfers. So, if for some reason you can't do the race next May, I'm sure another EN teammate would be happy to take the slot off of your hands as JT did this year.
Registered for it last night. I'm not a trail runner (ankle issues) so that day may be interesting... It's about 2 hours north of me. Anyone set up for lodging already? I don't think I want to get up so early the day of the race. Oh, and the wife doesn't know yet.

Hey Cuz--don't worry about the "run" as when you see these hills, it ain't more than a brisk walk to catch the people who are trying to "run" them.
I did a long run yesterday and thought to kill some time and do a short trail run; as it was not off my corse; I will never mix marathon training with trail work again lesson learned.
Why do you need all the clothing, the other Wick? This is going to be experienced for sure!

two years ago it was sunny and 85 degrees, last year it was raining and about 50 (and guys were unable to feel their hands/feet, etc---watching people with no dexterity in their fingers trying to put on and lace shoes was quite a sight.)

The other Wick? Keith was here first ya know. Not that I want to be called the other Wick or anything but uh, I don't think it's fair.
